Don Kincaid Testimonial

It was about twelve years ago when the pastor of my home church asked if I would start leading the hymns and praise songs for Sunday services. I thought he was nuts. The main reason I was going to church at that time in my life was because I knew how important it was to my wife. I certainly didn’t feel qualified to be leading anyone in worship. I enjoyed singing in the choir and doing an occasional solo, but the singing I was doing wasn’t to praise and worship God; it was to praise and worship me. I was there for my own selfish reasons. But, for some reason I agreed to take the job and from that moment on my life started to change. Slowly I began to understand what it meant to have a personal relationship with God. Slowly I began to realize how God wanted me to use the gifts He had given me.

In December 2002 I retired from the concrete industry to devote full-time to serving God with the gifts He had given me. It became obvious that God was calling me to follow His will for my life and grow beyond what I had already experienced. Without any real idea how I was going to accomplish what I thought God wanted me to do with my life, I quit my job and placed myself in God’s hands. The mistake I made was thinking that I knew what God wanted me to do.

The first year went by with no plan of action and I entered into some disappointing alliances that did not pan out. But after a period of intense Bible study and deep relationship building with our Lord and Father, I finally began to understand how God was going to accomplish God’s dream for my life. I needed to give the ministry up to Him and understand that through God, all things are possible! Things started to happen once I asked God for help and truly put myself in His hands. In December 2004 God and I released our first CD called “Get on the Journey.” God’s purpose and plan for my life seems to be taking shape and the closer my journey gets with my Lord and Savior the clearer God’s dream gets for my life. God has God sized dreams for you and me and when we surrender ourselves to His will those dreams become reality.

I look forward to sharing how God has shaped my life through the music He has put in my heart.
